Our backups gained much-needed experience in the B game against St. Louis. Garrett Dickey and Evan Gilbert had big games on offense and defense. Jackson Ward played QB for the first time. Brayden Shelby played our Monster position for the first time. Jalon Duncan had a long run. Daniel Fairley completed a few long passes. Will Graves had some good punts. Cristian Santiago made a couple of big plays on defense.
Even though it got a little crazy on the sidelines, everyone got to play in the game. Guys who didn’t play as much yesterday will get more time in the next game on Tuesday. The main thing is that we got to see what our guys are capable of doing, and everyone had fun. Our next B game is Tuesday at home at 5:30pm against St. Francis.

The Lions shut out Holy Rosary 16-0 behind a stifling defense and balanced attack on offense. The defense was led by Evan Moorman and Cody Cottrell. Jack Hurdle and Cottrell each had an interception. Colin Escue scored first on a strong running play. Quarterback Chad Parker threw a beautiful pass and Riley Echols made a leaping catch in the back of the end zone for Harding’s second score. Daniel Fairley scored both extra points. The starters got to rest a little in the fourth quarter as our backups gained some valuable playing time to end the game. Both teams played hard, showed good sportsmanship, and gave their best.

We hope to be able to share pictures from this season soon, but for the moment we can’t get the photo gallery to work with new pictures. Our webmaster is working on a solution, one of which may mean that we have to delete the pics from last year, so if you want to save any of those you might want to go ahead and get them now.

It was not a pretty game, but it was so dark the fans could barely see what was happening, anyway. The Lions only allowed two big plays on defense. Unfortunately, both of them resulted in scores. Colin Escue scored for Harding to cap off a nice first half drive. The team played hard and never gave up which are two key pillars of a championship program. We will keep working and practicing to help our team be better men and better football players.
The next game is Monday, September 8 against Holy Rosary at home at 6:00pm.

We will have our team picture made on Thursday. Players can have individuals made if they want to. Hopefully, you can open the picture order form by clicking below. I will have copies at practice on Tuesday, or they can fill it out Thursday. The most important thing is the money. $15 for package. Add $5 for optional two buttons. Make checks to Holland Studio. You must have the money before they will take your individual picture.

The 2008 Lions made their debut at the PAA Jamboree on Saturday by outscoring St. Dominic 16-0. After holding the Suns to three and out on their first possession, the Lion offense used the rest of the first half to grind out a score by Colin Escue as the half ended. Zach Beasley added the extra point. The Lions started the second half on offense and picked up where they left off. The offensive line looked sharp and created some nice holes for our backs. Kytrel “Cadillac” Williams scored on a one yard plunge to make the score 14-0, and Parks Flowers added the extra point to make it 16-0. The defense continued to play hard in the second half to secure the victory. The Lions had a huge number of fans present to encourage them. Thanks for coming out to the game.
Our first game of the season is Tuesday, September 2 at St. Louis. Kickoff will be at 6:00pm. St. Louis is located at the corner of White Station and Shady Grove. Our complete schedule will be released later this week.
