7th Grade Baseball

Lions win!! Lions win!!

The 7th grade baseball team pounded Fayette Academy 10-2 in a 5 inning run rule to gain the 7th grade league championship at First Tennessee Fields last night.

Congratulations on a great win and a game that typifies the attitude and determination of this team by their execution of pitching, defense, and hitting.The Lions finished first in regular season league play, a overall record of 10-1 on the season, win the post season tournament, and were awarded the 2008 7th grade league championship trophy.

(Reminder: Now that the season is over, I need each player to turn in their clean jersey in a Ziploc bag w/ their name on it to Mrs. Kerry Cancienne in the athletic office. Exams begin Friday and we are asked that the white jersey be turned in before each athlete can take exams.

The Lion’s machine continued to roll tonight in a 13-11 slugfest against St. Georges in post season play. The win advances the Lions record to 9-1 on the season. But more importantly, this win advances the Lions to the 7th grade league championship game.The Lions will play Fayette Academy Tuesday 5/20 at 5:15 PM on the Sonic field at First Tennessee Park in Cordova. This is the final game of our season and this game is for the league championship.

7th grade post season play is underway at Gameday. The lower seed has won 2 of 3 games played thus far. In Game #2 MUS played St. Georges Thursday night and St. Georges beat MUS 11-5.So our first game in post season play scheduled for Monday 5/19 at 7:30 PM is Harding vs St. Georges on Pat Patterson field at First Tennessee Park in Cordova.

Congratulations on a 12-1 thumping of Briarcrest tonight.  With this win, you finished the regular season 8-1, even though rain shortened, and have secured the #1 seed in the 7th grade post season tournament.

Our first game in post season play is scheduled for Monday 5/19 at 7:30 PM Harding v game #2 winner on Pat Patterson field at First Tennessee Park in Cordova.

(Game #2 is MUS v St. Georges and is scheduled for Thursday 5/15.)

- Monday 05/12 at 5:15 PM Harding v Briarcrest on Pat Patterson field at First Tennessee Park in Cordova

This is a make up game that was rained out and originally scheduled on 4/01.

This is our last regular season game.  The results of this game against Briarcrest will determine our seeding for the post season tournament. Post season play begins Tuesday May 13th and ends Tuesday May 20th.

I have not received a reschedule date for our game rained out last Tuesday night, but will update you when that information is available.

Good game and effort against a very, good pitcher last night. We battled all the way to the end, but suffered our first loss of the season with a 6-2 five inning outing.

This was the second game out of our last three games that our opponents have taken players from their 8th grade team to combine and play on their 7th grade team. I appreciate how the entire team rose to the challenge last night, and played aggressive and intense Lion’s baseball.

Lions roll to another win pounding St. Georges in a 12 - 0 run rule to extend their league win streak to 7 games. The Lion’s offense provided seven hits, along with a number of other hard hit balls, and 16 stolen bases to generate their 12 runs. Strong pitching by the Lions continued to deliver a punch with 10 strike outs over 4 innings of work that yielded a no hit, shut out.

Every player showed an aggressive and determined effort in the win.

- Jr High baseball sport pictures are rescheduled for this Wednesday, April 16th from 4:00-4:20 pm. On Wednesday after school, the players need to dress in their uniforms and meet on the baseball field at 4:00. Remember to bring your order form and money too.
