Reach Expectations

  • Step One: "Is the REACH program for you?"
  • Discuss this important decision with your student.
  • Understand that in order for the REACH program to be effective, students must have the ability and desire to succeed at Harding Academy.
  • Students must be willing to ask for and receive help from the REACH teachers.
  • Students must accept responsibility for satisfactory behavior and work habits.
  • Realize that school assignments are not always completed during school. Students need to spend a minimum of one hour each night on homework.
  • Recognize that REACH is a one-year commitment.
  • Step two: PLanning the Finances
  • Arrange a payment plan with Mrs. Linda Adams in the Business Office.
  • You may apply for financial assistance if your student attends Harding Academy.
  • Step Three: Committing to the Program Requirements
  • Complete and return a REACH application.
  • Contact the Program Coordinator when you decide to participate in the program.
  • Bring a copy of any outside testing such as Speech/Language Evaluation or ADD evaluation requested by the REACH coordinator.
  • Maintain a commitment to work with REACH teachers in monitoring student’s progress.
  • Read and sign an application and a contract addendum.
  • Plan a regular time for your student’s homework.
  • Step Four: Attending Report Conferences
  • Attend an annual conference to assess progress.
