Reach Expectations
- Step One: "Is the REACH program for you?"
- Discuss this important decision with your student.
- Understand that in order for the REACH program to be effective, students must have the ability and desire to succeed at Harding Academy.
- Students must be willing to ask for and receive help from the REACH teachers.
- Students must accept responsibility for satisfactory behavior and work habits.
- Realize that school assignments are not always completed during school. Students need to spend a minimum of one hour each night on homework.
- Recognize that REACH is a one-year commitment.
- Step two: PLanning the Finances
- Arrange a payment plan with Mrs. Linda Adams in the Business Office.
- You may apply for financial assistance if your student attends Harding Academy.
- Step Three: Committing to the Program Requirements
- Complete and return a REACH application.
- Contact the Program Coordinator when you decide to participate in the program.
- Bring a copy of any outside testing such as Speech/Language Evaluation or ADD evaluation requested by the REACH coordinator.
- Maintain a commitment to work with REACH teachers in monitoring student’s progress.
- Read and sign an application and a contract addendum.
- Plan a regular time for your student’s homework.
- Step Four: Attending Report Conferences
- Attend an annual conference to assess progress.
