Thumb Drives: Consumer Purchasing Information

May 26th, 2009

Recommended minimum size: 2G
For some classes a 4G may be required. Your teachers will let you know if a 4G is needed.

EACH STUDENT SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN.

Harding students need a thumb drive that will be compatible with their home computer and school computers (Macs). Not all thumb drives are created equal. Thumb drive specifications are determined by each manufacturer. Read carefully to make sure the thumb drive you purchase will work with a PC and a MAC.

If you have a PC at home, DO NOT INSTALL ANY PROGRAMS that come with your thumb drive.

IF you have a MAC at home, DO NOT INSTALL ANY PROGRAMS that come with your thumb drive.

See the examples below to better understand how to read the manufacturer’s label. All of these examples have been tested and will work on both MAC and PC as long as NO programs have been installed.
