Band

The following is a list of things that will be required for each student to have entering into band this next year. I will break them down by Band-

Beginning Band-
Smartmusic subscription and microphone- $47 (inquire with Mr. Canterbury at beginning of the year about obtaining this)
Khaki pants
White button-down long-sleeved shirt (not the Harding uniform shirt)
Black Socks
Black Shoes (heels and toes covered)
Standards of Excellence Book 1 (the RED book)
Instrument (we will be selecting the instruments during the first week of school)

Junior Concert Band-
Smartmusic subscription and microphone- $47 (if the student already has a smartmusic subscription, it is $30)
Instrument (all JCB students MUST have an instrument of their own with exceptions being tuba, baritone, and percussion equipment)
!!Percussionists!!- stick bag with mallets and sticks of your own (a list of sticks will be posted at a later date)
White TUX shirt
Black pants (TUX pants are recommended, but not required)
Black socks
Black shoes (heels and toes covered)

Senior Wind Ensemble-
Smartmusic subscription- $30
Instrument (all SWE students MUST have an instrument of their own with exceptions being tuba, baritone, and percussion equipment)
!!Percussionists!!- stick bag with mallets and sticks of your own (a list of sticks will be posted at a later date)
Guys- TUX rental- $40- Guys must be fitted for a TUX by August 31st. All payments for tuxes will be due on August 31st as well.
Black socks

Girls- Dresses- $? (more info later about when dress fittings will be)
Black shoes (heels and toes covered)

On Saturday, May 16th at 6:00 at the Woodland Hills church of Christ we will have our annual Band Banquet. Dinner begins at 6:00 followed by the awards ceremony in the auditorium.

We will have order forms for the end of the year video available and you will be able to pick them up at the front office at school before the end of the school year. Mr. Eddy Efaw is doing our show again.

All smartmusic assignments this week are any make up work that you need to do over the past few weeks. There are no rhythm or measure assignments due this week.

The Spring Concert was great! I hope you all are proud of yourselves.

On Thursday, May 14th at 4:00-5:00 we will have a combined rehearsal in the bandroom at the Cherry Rd. campus. All Bands from Southwind, White Station and Cordova will be there. Please be on time and ready to go.

Our Concert will be Tuesday, May 19th at 6:30 in the auditorium on the Cherry Rd. campus. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

We will have 2 Red Book assignments this week.

We will be moving equipment back into the bandroom on Monday morning. We will probably have time to run through a few pieces.

We will have a short class on Friday due to yearbook distribution day.

Our Spring Concert will be this Saturday at 6:30 in the OO Emmons Auditorium. Students will need to be in their seats in uniform at 6:00 for roll check.

Don’t forget; we will be in the auditorium beginning Tuesday. Our concert will be Wednesday, May 20th in the bandroom.
