I am attaching the email that was sent out last night.
Dear Parents,
How exciting!! For the first time, I believe, Harding Academy will be playing for the State Championship in football! It truly is amazing, and I am so thrilled that Harding Academy is in this position.
We have, however, met a snag in our plans to attend the game in Murfreesboro. Though the coaches and team want us there, charter buses are a little expensive. We will need something like this in order to take our equipment and our students. Unfortunately we do not budget this type of transportation in our band budget for the year. Two buses will run around $3000.
There are a few avenues we can take to make this a possibility. Here are a few ideas:
1. Charge each student and adult that would like to ride the bus $25 a piece.
2. Ask people for donation in hopes of raising close to that amount.
3. Have parents drive to the game in Murfreesboro with their student.
4. Not go.
Due to the extraneous circumstances, this is NOT a mandatory game for the students to perform. If you are not comfortable with your child going on this trip, please let me know. It will not effect their grade.
If you have any other ideas, please email me and let me know. As you can probably guess, I would like to avoid option 3 and 4.
Folks, I know this is hitting at one of the worst times of the year with the holidays looming and the economy the way it is now. I just ask that you prayerfully consider the matter.

There will be a game this Friday, November 14th at Harding Academy beginning at 7:00.
Students will need to be at the bandroom at 6:00 in uniform for roll check and warm up. It will be a bit on the chilly side, so bring a coat.
