Harding’s Cub Sports Program is an intramural athletic program for elementary students. Any student may be on a team for the following sports if enough students are interested to form a team.
- Soccer - Grades JK-4
- Soccer, girls - Grades 5-6
- Basketball - Grades SK-6
- Volleyball, girls - Grades 3-6
- T-ball/coach pitch ball - Grades Sr. K-2
- Baseball, boys - Grades 5-6
- Flag football, boys - Grades 3-4
The program promotes the physical, social, mental, and emotional growth of the students. While winning is important in any sporting event, it is not the primary goal for the younger students at the elementary level. Sportsmanship and participation are stressed in the Cub Sports Program, and all players play in each game. Games are played on Saturdays at the Cherry Road and Cordova campuses.
Competitive Cub Sports
A competitive sports program operates under the umbrella of Cub Sports. These sports are available.
- Basketball, boys/girls - Grades 5-6
- Tackle Football, boys - Grades 5-6
- Volleyball, girls - Grades 5-6
- Cheerleading, girls - Grades 5-6
The competitive program is designed for more skillful players to learn more about a sport. Players are selected by tryouts to be on teams. These teams play in local leagues and follow each league’s policies which may mean that a player may not play in some games. Expectations of the players in this program are greater, and there are many more practices and games than in the regular Cub Sports Program.
