Camp Invention 2009 Was A Huge Success

Camp Invention Just 2 campers shy of a sold out program, Camp Invention at Harding Cordova was a huge success. There were 108 campers armed with broken appliances, recyclables, and lots of out-of-the-box creativity. Our teachers went out of their way to make the curriculum come alive. Students learned about simple machines and made ping pong ball catapults; they performed experiments with the basic principals of flight; they went on a Viking treasure trek, threw hundreds of water balloons, and more. Counselors worked very hard to keep every child engaged. This high energy week ended with an INVENTORS SHOWCASE: a family assembly with cheers, a slide show, and open house. Sign up early for Camp Invention 2010!

50th Reunion of the First Graduating Class of Harding Academy of Memphis

59 Reunion

By: Victor Boone

Carolyn Welch Hladky, literally, took the bull by the horns and ran with it, to mix metaphors.  She contacted all the contactable members of the classes of 1959, the class of 1960, and the class which would have been the class of 1958 (former Memphis Christian School students) if Harding College had taken over Memphis Christian School earlier. Email invitations were sent out for the reunion to be held on Saturday afternoon, May 16th, in the Alumni Room of the Cherry Road Harding Academy of Memphis campus.
